During the summer of 2022-2023, I worked as a product design intern at Canva’s Education team, designing the student joining Canva experience for C4ED. That summer I got to ship a part of the feature of Canva for education which will empower the whole world to design.

Teachers find it hard to get students into Canva today - especially at younger years where their technical literacy is not as strong. How might we help students to seamlessly join Canva and collaborate with others?
For student
Signing up, creating an account and getting all the students together on an activity is difficult.

My takeaways
Through this collaboration with all different fields, I gained valuable skills in effectively and efficiently communicating with a diverse, cross-functional team. Furthermore, I was able to learn a great deal from the user study process, including recruiting participants, devising incentives, and designing tasks for testing, all while taking steps to minimize any potential biases.
During the internship, I had the chance of working with different people with different specialties. It’s inevitable to receive design critiques from different designers and developers. I’ve learned how to deal with different feedback effectively and determine the design decision.
